American Toad (Bufo americanus)
This toad lives in a variety of habitats, from mowed grassy lawns to heavily forested mountains. They can survive anywhere with abundant insects and moisture. The American Toad ranges from Manitoba to the Maritime Provinces, from southeast Louisiana north through Tennessee and Kentucky, west through Indiana to northeast Kansas, and north to Canada. It is primarily nocturnal and is a prodigious insect eater.
