Fowler's Toad (Bufo woodhousei fowleri)
The Fowler's Toad prefers habitats identical to that of the Woodhouse's Toad (sandy marshes, rain pools, backyards, and irrigation ditches.) Its distribution is also very similar, stretching from Lake Michigan east through most of Pennsylvania to southeast New York and south New England, south to the Gulf coast (excluding coastal South Carolina, Georgia, and most of Florida), west to east Texas and north to Missouri and south Illinois. The Fowler's Toad is primarily nocturnal, spending most of the day in its burrow or hiding in vegetation.
