Ambystoma tigrinum

 Identification: light spots irregular in shape and distribution extending down the sides;

belly olive-yellow marbled with darker pigment

Range: Long Island to northern Florida and southern Mississippi; Ohio to Minnesota;

South to northern Arkansas and to the Gulf through Georgia; small isolated

Colonies in southern Ohio

Breeding: winter and early spring; congregating in deeper water than Spotted

Salamander
