Mole Salamanders

 

Habitat: stay underground most of their lives; take shelter under logs,stones

 Breeding: occurs in temporary pools and ponds

 Identification: five toes on each hind foot and four on each front foot; do not have a groove running from the nostril to the lip unlike Plethodontidae

 Range: most of the United States

 Food: live earthworms and other invertebrates

 

Adults are easily maintained in terrariums, and larvae are easily raised in aquariums.
