Lampetra aegytera - Ohio Brook Lamprey or Least Brook Lamprey (Petromyzontidae)

Small brooks of high gradients having riffle bottoms of sand and gravel, intolerant of siltation and pollutants - Found in Atlantic flowing streams - rare.

Freshwater streams larval forms feed on organic detritus. Adults short lived and non-parasitic eggs laid in fast moving riffles. Atlantic coastal streams, great Lakes, Mississippi drainage
