2013 Summer Employment Program
Summer is right around the corner and we are preparing for our 2013 Summer Student Employment. If you have the funding in your departmental budget and are interested in securing a student employee for the summer months, please read this message in its entirety.
The 2013 Summer Student Employment commences on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 and spans through Sunday, September 1, 2013.
The rate of pay will be $8.00 per hour and a student can work up to 25 hours per week.
Steps to Hire Summer Students:
1.) Already secured a Summer Student Employee:
If you have already secured Summer Student Employee(s), please complete the Summer Student Hire Request for each student hire. This form serves as a bridge in passing the information from your area to Payroll.
2.) Have not secured Student Employee(s), but will have a need for Summer Student Employee(s).
If you have openings for student employees, you can register your department and post your job at www.collegecentral.com/washjeff.
To register your department, go to www.collegecentral.com/washjeff, click on “Employers”, “Register Now”, and fill out your information listing your company name as W&J and your department, for example, W&J Human Resources. Human Resources will complete your registration and you will receive an e-mail with your password in it.
Once you have received your password via email, you can post your job. Go back to www.collegecentral.com/washjeff. Click on “Employers” and then “Online Services” where you will be prompted to enter your login information. Choose “Post a new job” from the menu and enter your job information. Be sure to mark the job specifically as a SEASONAL position under job type and to be viewed by students only.
Post your job description online:
–Go to www.collegecentral.com/washjeff
–Click on “Employers”
–Create your account
Once your account has been approved and you have been sent a password, you can return to the website and login through “Employers”
–Choose “Post a new job”
Once the student worker has been hired, you will need to complete the Summer Student Hire Request as well.
Any new student worker that has not worked for the College in the past will need to complete a payroll packet. Please direct the new student worker to the Payroll Office located on 2nd floor of Thompson Hall.
The Summer Student Employment communication will be sent to all students on Monday, May 6, 2013.
Please note that Summer Student Workers are not eligible for federal work study. It is critical to provide your GL/account number to Human Resources. Your department budget will be split over 2 fiscal years since the current fiscal year ends on June 30, 2013. Again, you must have the monies available in budget to support the positions that you are requesting.
