First Presbyterian Church, 1793, is accepting applications for the Matthew Brown Fellowship. Named for the first president of Washington & Jefferson College and founding minister of First Presbyterian Church, the Matthew Brown Fellowship is a faith-based project linking students with community service positions in Washington during the 2013-2014 academic year.
Students selected as fellows in this inter-faith project will be assigned to volunteer at area community service organizations for an average of five hours per week.
Fellows will volunteer no less than 60 hours per semester and earn a stipend of $1,000 that will be disbursed in monthly installments. Students will also receive a $250 book bonus at the beginning of each semester, to be used for the purchase of books and materials for classes.
