Vira Heinz program "coffee chat"

Calling sophomore/junior women who want to study abroad during the summer!

Each year, W&J is able to nominate three female students to participate in the Vira I. Heinz Women in Global Leadership Program. Acceptance into the program includes:

• A scholarship of at least $5000 to study abroad during the summer
• Two weekend-long retreats focusing on the development of a global perspective and leadership skills
• The opportunity to serve your community and share your amazing abroad experience with others by conducting a Community Engagement Experience

This past year’s participants will be holding an informal coffee chat this Thursday, October 20, at 8:30pm in the Ski Lodge. Come hear about these three students’ study-abroad and leadership experiences, and how you can apply for the program!

Sophomore and junior women with a GPA of at least 3.0 and no previous international travel experience are eligible to apply. Women who belong to a racial/ethnic minority; identify as LGBT; have a disability; and/or qualify for a Federal Pell Grant are especially encouraged to apply.

Although freshmen are not eligible to apply this year, we highly encourage you to attend and to start planning for next year!
