W&J Debuts Live Video Webcasts

Washington & Jefferson College Director of Athletics Bill Dukett has announced a web streaming partnership with LiveSportsVideo.com to begin providing live video of Presidents’ athletic events.

Beginning with Wednesday’s volleyball match against Geneva College (7:00 pm), W&J athletics will provide live video of selected home athletic events.  A link will be provided on the Washington & Jefferson College athletic website and fans will be able to watch games live via the internet for free.

Viewers must obtain a log-in name and password via LiveSportsVideo.com to watch a game.  All broadcasts will also be archived.

“We are very excited to begin an era of live video broadcasting for our home athletic events and we believe this will add to the student-athlete experience at Washington & Jefferson College,” said Dukett.  “Our coaches work very hard in attracting the best student-athletes from across the country and these webcasts will showcase their talents.”

LiveSportsVideo.com, located in Syracuse, N.Y., prides itself in being a clearinghouse of sports webcasting via the internet, holding a U.S. Patent (No. 7,340,765) and delivering users over 10,000 archived and live events (over 15 million page views per year and 300,000 direct access memberships).  LSV covers all levels of sports in high school, college, amateur, and professional sports.  LSV presents webcasts for over 300 Division I, II and III colleges and universities and has served as the streaming provider for the NCAA Division II and III Wrestling Championships.

W&J plans on providing live video for nearly 30 home events this fall, starting with Wednesday night’s volleyball match with Geneva.  All five of Washington & Jefferson’s football games from Cameron Stadium will be carried live, including Saturday’s PAC-MAC Challenge Series game.  W&J will also provide live webcasts during the winter and spring seasons.  A full broadcast schedule for the fall season is available on the W&J athletics website.
