There are several ways to apply to W&J:

Transfer Application Deadlines:

  • Fall Semester – August 15

  • Intersession – December 10

  • Spring Semester – January 10

Transfer Credit

Final decision concerning transfer is made through the Office of Admission, and transfer credits through the Registrar's Office and the Office of Academic Affairs. For information about what credits will transfer, see our guide to Transfer Policies/Obtaining Course Credit.

Any course accepted from another college will be recorded as credit by the Registrar. Washington & Jefferson College typically accepts three- or four-credit college-level academic courses (with course descriptions similar to W&J offerings) with grades of a C- or above from an accredited institution for transfer credit. No more than 16 courses from other institutions may be applied toward W&J College’s graduation requirements. Only grades attained at W&J will be used to compute a student's grade point average. A student must complete 18 courses at W&J to obtain a degree.
