DJ Sammel
The 2013 season was the third at Washington & Jefferson for DJ Sammel.
Prior to coming to Washington & Jefferson, Sammel spent four years as the head coach of a local Federation League team in Pittsburgh and two seasons as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Langley High School.
Sammel graduated with a degree in health and physical education from Edinboro University in 2003. He was a four-year starting infielder for the Fighting Scots’ baseball team, twice earning First Team All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference accolades. Sammel was a First Team All-Region honoree in 2002 and was named to the Edinboro All-Time Baseball Team in 2009.
Sammel also owns a master’s degree in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia University (Calif.).
He resides with his wife Dina and the couple’s two children, three-year old Ella and one-year old Easton.
