Textbook Reservation

Let the W&J College Bookstore do the work for you! Simply fill out the W&J Textbook Reservation Form, and Bookstore staff will pull the books for you and have them boxed and ready to go. You can select your preference of new or used books and the staff will fill your reservation in the order received. If a substitute for your preference must be made, the staff will let you know before you pay.

Used Books

The W&J Bookstore orders used books through multiple wholesalers to stock the largest variety possible. Supply can be limited for newer titles. Used books are typically priced between 25% to 30% lower than the equivalent new book to help pass savings along to our customers! You can’t go wrong with used books.

Textbook Buyback

The W&J Bookstore offers a competitive used textbook buyback program, with the most competitive pricing offered during finals week each term. Customers will receive approximately 50% of the new book price, regardless of whether the book was purchased as a new or used copy, and regardless of where the book originally was purchased.

Several factors determine the amount money you could receive during book buyback:

  • Has your instructor reordered the book for the upcoming semester?
  • Does the Bookstore need more copies, or have we bought our limit?
  • Is the book damaged in any way (missing pages, liquid damage, binding broken)?
  • Is there a pending new edition of the book, or is the book already an old edition?
  • Was the book sold as a bundle, and are pieces missing (CD’s)?
  • Was the access code removed or scratched off?
  • Is there a Wholesale demand for the book (are other colleges looking to use this book)?

The Washington & Jefferson College Bookstore does not buy copies marked as international edition, instructor copy, or free copy.

Textbook Rentals

Rent your textbooks from the W&J Bookstore! The Textbook Rental Program provides another option for students to save on textbook costs.
