Senior Year Checklist

  • Attend the Senior Meeting to learn about career-related material and on-campus recruitment programs.
  • Attend career workshops, and programs such as the hot jobs panels, and continue building your career network.
  • Update your resume and have it reviewed by the Office of Career Services. Create a list of three or four references(pdf).
  • Attend workshops to sharpen interviewing (PDF), job search (PDF), correspondence (PDF), and networking skills (PDF). Participate in a mock interview.
  • Draft a cover letter and thank you letter (See our Job Search Correspondence Guide (PDF)) that can be adapted for a variety of employers and have them reviewed by Career Services.
  • Register for on-campus interviews that fit with your career goals.
  • Use the career network you have established to set up your own interviews.
  • Attend career fairs to maximize your exposure to employers who normally do not recruit on campus.
  • Gather information on realistic salary expectations.
  • Follow up on all applications and keep a record of the status of each.
  • Send thank you letters after each interview.
  • Meet with a staff member of Career Services to review your individual career plan.
  • Report job offers and acceptance to graduate schools to the Career Services office. We love to hear about your successes!
