Sophomore Year Checklist

  • Continue to talk to faculty, your academic advisor, and the Office of Career Services about your major and career opportunities.
  • Update your resume with your summer work experience and campus activities. Have it reviewed by Career Services.
  • Learn interviewing skills (PDF) by attending an interviewing workshop. Then practice your skills by having a mock interview.
  • Continue to participate in campus activities and volunteer opportunities and prepare to take a leadership position.
  • Attend career workshops, and programs such as the hot jobs panels, and start building your career network.
  • Focus on summer jobs, internships, or volunteer opportunities related to your career interest.
  • Put together an interview outfit.
  • Declare your major by the end of your sophomore year.
