Director of Community Standards and Support Services
Washington & Jefferson College is seeking a Director of Community Standards and Support Services. Reporting to the Vice President and Dean of Student Life, the Director of Community Standards and Support Services is responsible for overseeing the daily administration of the Washington & Jefferson College student conduct system as well as coordinating support services to promote student success and retention. In regard to conduct, the Director oversees resolution of student conduct issues and alleged infractions of the Student Code of Conduct. The Director will adjudicate alleged violations of student conduct, develop and implement conduct policies, and coordinate education and outreach regarding community standards. In regard to support services, the Director will oversee the Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) center, assist in the creation of a sophomore program, as well as coordinate emerging projects designed to enhance student success at the college.
The Director will: manage the day to day operations of W & J’s student conduct system including; serving as the primary contact for students, parents, faculty, and staff regarding conduct matters; develop administrative protocols and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal laws and mandates; monitor sanction compliance; oversee departmental budget, maintain the integrity and accuracy of all conduct records and discipline database; work collaboratively to create and present educational workshops, presentations, and programs designed to increase community awareness of and adherence to college policies; design and facilitate training for students, faculty, staff as well as Community Standards Panel members; act as primary contact person for members of the college community who report violations of the Student Code of Conduct; serve as a Conduct Officer for major violations of the student code of conduct; coordinate selection, training and advisement of all conduct hearing panels; provide administrative support to conduct panels including recruiting panelists; process student discipline information requests by internal and external officials; create and assess annual learning outcomes and program goals; prepare and distribute various monthly, quarterly, and annual statistical reports; coordinate staffing and administration of the Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) tutoring venter; coordinate and implement a sophomore success program; collaboratively develop initiatives to support student success and retention; serve on various committees at the divisional and college level; and. fulfill additional responsibilities as dictated by student needs, divisional and organizational priorities.
Master's degree in higher education administration educational policy, educational leadership, adult development, counseling, or a related field; supplemented with a minimum of five (5) years of related experience in in higher education environments.
