On April 23, 2012, the Washington & Jefferson Center for Energy Policy and Management presented its 2012 Energy Summit: Getting Control of our Energy Future at the W&J campus in Washington, PA. Featured speakers included Susan Eisenhower, President of the Eisenhower Group and Chairman of the Eisenhower Institute’s Leadership and Public Policy Programs, Kate McGinty, Vice President of Strategic Growth at Westin Solutions, former Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, and environmental advisor to President Clinton, and Eleanor Clift, noted political reporter, television pundit and author.
During the Summit, W&J College unveiled its Energy Index, an interpretative tool that provides the public with a benchmark for measuring the progress the U.S. and its regions have made towards energy independence and security. PA Senator Tim Solobay offered his perspective on the Energy Index.
