The student affiliates of the American Chemical Society (SAACS) is a student-run chemistry club at W&J. Our chapter consists of chemistry majors, minors, pre-health members, and all other interested students. SAACS holds weekly meetings and is involved in various campus activities throughout the year including:

  • Activities during National Chemistry Week every October
  • Saturday Science, a program every Spring for local elementary students that teaches them chemistry
  • A Thanksgiving dinner and Spring Picnic with the chemistry faculty

Many SAACS members are also members of ACS and have traveled to regional and national conferences to present their work. Students who have conducted both on and off campus research are encouraged to share their findings at a meeting.

Any student interested in joining SAACS is encouraged to do so and can contact our faculty advisor, Dr. Malinak, for more information.
