Areas of Study
Dr. Christy Presson Shaughnessy is an associate professor of Spanish in the Department of Modern Languages, and is the Languages Coordinator for the International Business Program. She also teaches courses in both the Gender and Women's Studies Program and International Business Program. Her specialty is 19th century peninsular literature. She acts as an editor to several Spanish databases in the CAPL project to promote open access media for foreign language instructors. Most recently she published The Bourgeois Wife as Odalisque in Pardo Bazán's Una cristiana and La prueba in Revista de Estudios Hispánicos.
