If you missed the fair, you can still visit the Web site and review the employer directory.

The Office of Career Services
is pleased to announce the addition of a new online system. College Central Network (CCN) which allows students and alumni to access full-time, internship, part-time, and summer opportunities. Students and alumni are able to connect with employers, post resumes and cover letters, and in the near future create portfolios. There are typically over 50,000 national postings and numerous postings specific to W&J. New jobs are added daily, including entry-level jobs from nearly 150 newspapers. College Central also features over 1,000 career articles written by industry professionals to help guide you in your career exploration. We are also a member of the Liberal Arts Recruiting Consortium (LARC), comprised of 8 Greater Pittsburgh area Colleges and Universities, who will share local postings.

Current students and 2009 alumni of Washington & Jefferson College, have been pre-registered. To access your account:-- Go to

 College Central graphic

-- Click the "Students" icon
-- Click on the link to "Log in at Student Central"
-- Log in using your Student ID Number as your Access ID, and "presidents" as your password

After you log in, you must complete a short registration form. Then, for security purposes, we recommend that you change your password. Alumni can change their status from student to alumni at the bottom of the welcome page.

Alumni of previous years can create an account by going to http://www.collegecentral.com/washjeff/ and selecting Alumni and selecting Register Now.

At this time you may see few local postings, as this is a brand new service that is just now being promoted to local employers. We're busy spreading the word, so check back often for new postings.

If you have any questions or need assistance in accessing this service, please contact the Office of Career Services at (724) 229-5126 or careerservices@RemoveThisPart.washjeff.edu.

Sincerely,

W&J Career Resource Network

Career Services, in conjunction with the Offices of the President, Alumni Relations and IT Services, launch the
W&J Career Resource Network ! This searchable Web site contains contact information for over 100 W&J alumni willing to serve either as a career resource or provide internship opportunities to current W&J students.

Alumni are among the best sources for networking and guidance in your chosen career path, and many times can help you land your dream job. Not quite sure how to approach alumni regarding career opportunities? The Office of Career Services is available to answer your questions and provide guidance on taking this next step.

We recommend that you use our Networking Overview Guide  (also available in the racks outside our office located on the Lower Level of Rossin) to review helpful "dos and don'ts" for effective networking. Networking is about building and maintaining long-term relationships with others, because the truth is - companies want to hire who they know.

An updated resume is suggested for this process and may be required for internships. Please contact Career Services (724-229-5126) with any questions about site content. You will need to use your W&J network username and password to access the new W&J Career Resource Network. Please contact the ITS Help Desk (724-223-6022) if you have any difficulty accessing the site.
