Model UNW&J Students Compete at Harvard Model United Nations

WASHINGTON, PA (February 27, 2008) -Sixteen Washington & Jefferson College students competed recently in the 54th session of the Harvard Model United Nations at the Boston (Massachusetts) Park Plaza Hotel.

The conference featured negotiation in areas such as fair and free elections, terrorism in Africa, child soldiers, and bioterrorism.

The weekend proved to be a successful learning experience as well as a lot of fun.
Participating students included Nikki Lu, Kayla Kaminski, Ryan Sayers, Jourdin Barber, Dan Mason, Jessica Kurtz, Ali Straka, Molly Sykes, Dave Malacki, Alex Cabonor, LaTwyla Mathias, Kyle McGregor, Mike Barlett, Scott Krisiak, Austin Baumgard, and Bill Smearcheck.

The faculty advisors included Constinia Charbonnette; assistant dean of Multicultral Affairs,  and Zheya Gai and Buba Misawa, associate professors of political science.
