Hunger and Homelessnesss Awareness Week is observed annually one week prior to Thanksgiving to educate on the very real issues faced by Americans living in poverty everyday. The Office of Volunteer Programs recognizes this week with service projects, fundraisers, and various educational events. All Week
Food Drive Contest - GIVE and the Lion's Club are sponsoring a food drive in the residence halls all week. The residence hall with the highest canned-good-per-capita ratio will be receiving a free pizza party sponsored by both clubs. All food will be donated to the Greater Washington County Food Bank.
Monday, November 16
Voter Registration Drive at Washington City Mission - Student Volunteers will be running voter registration drives at the Washington City Mission from 10:30 - 12:00 and from 3:30 - 5:00. For more information contact vbeck@RemoveThisPart.washjeff.edu

Hunger Banquet - International Justice Mission is sponsoring this interactive experience that demonstrates the unequal distribution of food throughout the world. Thursday, November 19
25th Quarter - Donate your spare change to create life change during the 25th Quarter monthly fundraiser. Delta Gamma will be collecting money for the Interfaith Hospitality Network at a table at George & Tom's
Sorority Recruitment - Canned Good Collection - Freshmen and Independent women are encouraged to attend this event to meet the sorority women of W&J. Canned goods will be collected at the door for the Greater Washington County Food Bank. 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. in the Ballroom.

From October 24- November 15, G.I.V.E is collecting books for elementary and middle-school-aged children. Collection boxes are located in The Hub and the Office of Student Life. Books will be donated to the Washington County Literacy Council
Lion's Club and G.I.V.E. - Fight Hunger...and Win a Pizza Party
The Lion's Club and G.I.V.E. are sponsoring a Food Drive for the Greater Washington County Food Bank. From October 20 - November 20, canned goods and other nonperishable foods can be donated at the collection boxes in each residence hall.
