Michael McCracken gives invited talk at APS/JPS workshop on Hadronic Physics in Waikoloa, HI. The 30-minute presentation was part of the Workshop on Meson Production Reactions at J-PARC and JLab that preceded the joint American Physical Society and Japanese Physical Society Division of Nuclear Physics meeting held every two years in Hawaii. The specific goals of this workshop were to coordinate the future research programs of the Japanese Proton Accelerator Research Center (J-PARC) and Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (JLab) in Newport News, Va, and to establish an international steering body for the future of nuclear physics experiments. The workshop featured thirty presentations by theoretical and experimental physicists from both laboratories and research institutions around the world. Dr. McCracken's presentation (slides viewable at http://wintermute.washjeff.edu/mccracken_apsjps_1009.pdf) described recent results on production of strange particles at JLab and gave the international audience an idea of the current status of world data on K meson production.
