Michael Crabtree, Ph.D.
Professor of Psychology 

Areas of Study


Michael Crabtree has been with the Psychology Department since 1973.  He is presently a Professor of Psychology.  He teaches courses in Elementary Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Personality Theory, Counseling, Psychological Assessment and Internship Supervision.  He is the principal investigator on the Combat Stress Intervention Program (CSIP).  CSIP is a three-year research program designed to assess the needs of veterans and their families as members of the National Guard and Reserve return to their homes in rural southwestern Pennsylvania. 

Dr. Crabtree is a Licensed Psychologist.  His areas of Specialty are Psychological Evaluations and Forensic Psychology, particularly as it relates to personal injury, custody and disability.  Dr. Crabtree serves on Boards for a number of community agencies, including Gateway Rehabilitation Center, Vice President of the Board of Try Again Homes and Vice President of Washington County Health Partners.  Dr. Crabtree uses his involvement in the community to help students arrange psychology internships while they are at W&J.
