Department of History
The Department of History is a supportive and intellectually invigorating academic home for students who want to develop the knowledge and skills needed to appreciate the past and thrive in the future. We offer more than 40 courses, with particular strengths in American, European, and East Asian history. Majors complete 10 history courses and minors six, distributed in a way that ensures both depth and breadth. (Please see Degree Requirements and Course Offerings.)
