TUITION FREEDOM DAY 2013
The purpose of Tuition Freedom Day is to celebrate, educate, and acknowledge the generosity of others.
What most students and their families do not realize about Washington & Jefferson College is that tuition only covers about 68 percent of the cost of a W&J education. Gifts from alumni, parents, and friends make up the difference!
Each year, gifts to the W&J Fund support the daily operations of the College, including scholarships, special programs, guest lectures, athletic equipment, travel costs, utilities, and repairs. Without gifts from alumni, parents, and friends of W&J, tuition would need to increase, on average, $9,000 per year. That is a huge investment in our students!
February 19, 2013, marked 68 percent of the way through the school year, and therefore was named: Tuition Freedom Day! To celebrate, students signed thank you notes to donors for their contributions to the College.
