THE YOUNG ALUMNI CHALLENGE
Rising to a challenge issued by a generous benefactor, Washington & Jefferson College young alumni raised more than $10,000 for the College. These gifts had double the impact on W&J as the benefactor matched every gift two to one.
Ensuring that future generations receive the same opportunities they had, more than 250 graduates from the classes of 2002 to 2012 participated in the Challenge. Of these donors, 78 were first time donors to the College. The W&J Fund would like to thank all young alumni that supported their alma mater and made the challenge a success.
IMPACT OF YOUR DONATION
SCHOLARSHIPS
97% of all W&J students receive over $39 million in financial assistance annually. Your annual contributions help the College provide scholarships to needy and deserving students.
PARTICIPATION
Alumni participation in giving is a key barometer for demonstrating the value of a W&J education. Increasingly, charitable foundations, corporations and entities that rank colleges and universities look closely at the overall number of alumni donors. Your participation is vital.
ACADEMICS & STUDENT PROGRAMMING
At W&J, our students truly embody the idea of a liberal arts education. Giving to W&J ensures the College is able to support student activities and travel, enhance our athletic programs and academic programs. These programs are designed and implemented to push students farther than they thought possible and challenge them to develop critical thinking skills.
