Asian Cultural Association (ACA)

Meetings Held Every Other Thursday at 6:00PM in the Fireplace Lounge

The Asian Cultural Association serves to promote awareness of all aspects of the Asian culture on campus and the surrounding community. ACA’s goal is to enhance the campus community’s understanding of Asian heritage and connection to the Asian culture through programming and cultural events.

Black Student Union (BSU)

Meetings Held Every other Tuesday at 7:00PM in the Alley

The purpose of the Black Student Union is to foster a sense of community among all students of African descent at Washington & Jefferson College. BSU’s mission is to stimulate the intellectual, political, cultural, and social growth of all students through enriching programs such the Multicultural Lecture Series, the Gospel Explosion, leadership and mentoring programs, and community service. BSU strives to create an atmosphere where all students can engage in critical dialogue on issues that impact the Black community cultural diversity.

Diversity Programming Board (DPB)

Meetings Held Every Other Tuesday at 6:00PM in the Fireplace Lounge

The Diversity Programming Board of Washington & Jefferson College seeks to promote a community of inclusion and awareness and it will accomplish this by pursuing to provide programming that honors and supports its campus community members in the areas of age, gender, socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, culture, sexual orientation, body type, mental or physical differences, and other social identifiers while extending awareness out into the Washington community.

Gay Straight Alliance (GSA)

Meetings Held Every Other Monday at 7:30PM in the Cultural Exchange Lounge

Gay Straight Alliance’s mission to create a positive environment for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, questioning, intersex and allied people at Washington & Jefferson College by fostering a sense of community, cultural awareness, and understanding of their needs and concerns.

Hillel

Meetings held every other Thursday at 7:00pm in the HUB Meeting Room. 

The mission of Hillel is to preserve and advance awareness about the Jewish faith and its cultural heritage throughout the campus and community at large. In doing so, Hillel will unite students on campus, regardless of cultural background through learning more about the Jewish faith, and it's cultural traditions. Hillel also coordinates with other organizations on campus and in the community to organize events of mutual interest. These events will showcase and highlight Jewish religion, culture and heritage to the campus and community through cultural events, guest speakers and recreational activities.

Indian Student Association (ISA)

Meetings Held Every Other Wednesday at 6:00PM in the Fireplace Lounge.
 

The mission of the Indian Student Association is to preserve, promote and advance awareness about India and its cultural heritage throughout the campus and community at large. An important belief of ISA is to stimulate conversation on not only cultural matters, but social and political issues as well. In doing so, ISA will unite students on campus, regardless of cultural background by celebrating and learning from the cultural diversity on campus, as well as coordinate with other organizations on campus and in the community to organize events of mutual interest. These events will showcase and highlight Indian culture and heritage to the campus and community through cultural events, festivals, lectures and recreational activities.

Latino Culture Association (LCA)

Meetings Held Every Other Thursday at 6:00PM in the Alley

The primary goal of the Latino Culture Association is to unify the diverse Latino students at Washington & Jefferson College in the desire to promote academic excellence in our community and the pride that accompanies the knowledge of self. In this, we embrace all those who are interested in promoting the diversity in our cultures and languages. We are founded in the hopes that by the provision of both social and education opportunities for the W&J community, we shall foster understanding of Latino Heritage.
