Seek treatment immediately if you have flu-like symptoms
Symptoms of H1N1 are similar to those of the seasonal flu, including sudden fever and cough, muscle aches, fatigue, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
If you show signs or symptoms of the flu, please see the college nurse or your family medical provider immediately. Do not return to work or class if you have a fever. The CDC and Department of Health recommend you stay at home for at least 24 hours after the end of a fever (usually 3-5 days after the onset of the symptoms). If you are diagnosed with H1N1, please notify Residence Life immediately so that proper precautions may be taken in your buildings.
If you are a student living on campus, please make sure you allow your custodian the opportunity to thoroughly clean your bathrooms on the assigned cleaning days by removing all of your personal belongings. Facility Services uses strong disinfectants that, when used properly and consistently, will kill any harmful bacteria. Custodians have been instructed to pay close attention to door handles, water fountains, etc., to minimize any exposure risk.
