Fall 2012 Global Photo Contest

The Office of Global Education has started the tradition of a Global Photo Contest to be held each semester. Each contest is open to W&J students who participated in a W&J affiliated international trip during the preceding terms. This current contest was open to students who were abroad on W&J-affiliated travel (e.g., semester abroad, summer abroad, Magellan, Vira I. Heinz Scholarship Recipient) during the spring semester or summer 2012. This fall, the Office of Global Education received over 130 photos  which were submitted for judging in the various categories: Landscape, Real Life, People, Architecture & Miscellaneous. A select committee of faculty, staff and students trimmed the submissions to determine the finalists.

Winners will be determined from among the finalists by popular vote – view the photos below*, then go to the voting form to let us know which photos should win! Votes must be received by 5pm on Wednesday, November 14.

Voting is open to W&J faculty, staff and students. Photos are also on display in the Parcell Room of The Commons from November 6-13, and will also be displayed during the Study Abroad Fair on November 14 so that the campus community has the opportunity to enjoy them. Winning photos will be announced through email after the votes have been tallied. Prizes will be awarded to the participants who took the winning photos, which will be in a special display in the Library November 16-30.

Information about the Spring 2013 Global Photo Contest, which will be open to students who engaged in W&J affiliated international trip during fall 2012 or intersession 2013, will be announced in March.
