Join your students on campus where you can connect with the community and explore the opportunities available for your students. Family Weekend will be held September 22-23, 2023. This is an event you will not want to miss.
Check-In
Join us in the Rossin Ballroom for check-in from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. During check-in each family will receive a welcome folder with your weekend itinerary, events tickets, name tags, and a special registration gift.
Salvitti Gym

Everyone is invited to join the athletic community for a tour of the James David Ross Recreation Center and Salvitti Gym. Light refreshments will be provided. The recreation center will be set-up with games that appeal to all ages. Make sure you practice, because Pickleball will be set up for adults in the front of the recreation center.

Ignite Center

Ignite is our business incubator and co-working space. Owned and operated by Washington & Jefferson College, Ignite, serves both existing businesses and startups. Ignite is a living laboratory for student experiential learning and features the Ignite Residency, an internship program for W&J students. Ignite offers a variety of programming and support, such as, Ideas 2 Enterprise, which is a 5-week business planning competition with cash prizes for the participants.
Families and Faculty are invited to join together on McMillian Lawn to mingle over dinner and enjoy yard games.
Friends and Families of students are invited to the James David Ross Recreation Center to participate in Casino Night! Sip on your favorite mocktail, while playing BlackJack, Craps, or your favorite board game. While we will not be using real money prizes will be raffled off at the end of the night.
Campus and Public Safety and Residence Life are joining together to take you on a Ghost Tour. Everyone will gather on the Rossin Patio for s’mores and milkshakes provided by the Inside Scoop mobile cart, before embarking on a journey across campus. Guests will be guided through haunted stories of ghosts who linger on campus by staff and faculty members.
Families are invited to start the day with brunch hosted by the Student Government Association (SGA) and hear remarks from President John Knapp. Learn more about academics and co-curricular topics through the student-hosted poster session.
Families will have the opportunity to hear from various faculty about academic programs or take tours of facilities and sites.
The Women's Soccer Team will take on Saint Vincent at Alexandre Stadium. At the soccer games, a food truck will be available for families of both teams to purchase food.
The Presidents will take on Thiel at Cameron Stadium. Each student registered for Family Weekend will receive two free tickets to the Football game. The stadium will have a designated family seating area. Get your W&J promotional gear at the Campus Store Kiosk.
The Men's Soccer team will take on Franciscan University. At the soccer games, a food truck will be available for families of both teams to purchase food for the games.
Watch the sunset as you channel your creative side at our Paint & Sip event. Space is limited, so register early for this experience. (Location has been moved to OLD MAIN)
