Father Kevin Poecking is a Roman Catholic priest and comes to the Washington & Jefferson College community as chaplain to the Catholic students, faculty, and staff through Immaculate Conception Parish, where he is assigned. He lived near Buffalo, NY before coming to the Pittsburgh area for college. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 1990 with a degree in mathematics and industrial management. While following his career in logistics and business planning at the corporate headquarters of Fed-Ex Ground, he also earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Robert Morris University. Fr. Kevin was a convert, received into the Catholic Church in 1997, entered seminary that same year and has been a priest since 2004. He attended St. Paul Seminary, Duquesne University and St. Vincent Seminary receiving degrees in Philosophy and Theology. In addition to and including his role as a parish priest, Father Kevin has been involved in parish school, youth, and men's ministry, St. Vincent de Paul Society, and has given presentations on Fundamentalism and the Spirituality of Sports and Exercise. He enjoys travel and hockey. He has visited the missions in Kenya, Nigeria, Peru, Papua New Guinea and Jamaica and has also traveled to Slovakia and Scotland.
