Film Studies

Film Studies is an emphasis offered by the Department of Communication Arts, that includes courses in film history, film criticism, acting, and screenwriting.

Students also have the option, at an additional cost, to take production courses through Pittsburgh Filmmakers, one of the oldest and largest media arts centers in the United States, and count those courses in the visual arts—film, digital video, and photography—toward the Film Studies emphasis.

All W&J students can participate in the Film Club for screenings and discussions of significant works.

A Communication Arts major with an emphasis in Film Studies requires 10 courses total. Additional course information is available in the W&J College Catalog.
