Washington & Jefferson College’s Matriculation Ceremony is the first of many traditions in which W&J students will engage. It is alive with symbolism and imagery as they parade through the historic Old Main doors and walk across the W&J Seal in their flip-flops and tennis shoes as incoming W&J students. Not by coincidence, during the Commencement ceremony, these students will be joined together as a class one last time to proudly walk across the seal in their cap and gowns as graduates of our fine school.
The ceremony is a required event for all new students beginning classes in the fall semester. This year’s Matriculation Ceremony will be taking place on Friday, August 30, 2013 at 2pm under the tent on the lawn outside of our Olin Fine Arts Center. Families are encouraged to attend this event.
NOTE: W&J live streams will begin approximately a half hour prior to the event.
