Osborne was a Fulbright Scholar in Germany and later taught in Lebanon for five a half years. He also believes (a) that dogs are smarter than humans, and (b) that Trout Mask Replica by Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band is the greatest album ever recorded.

Gregg Osborne is an associate professor in the Department of Philosophy. His research is concerned mainly with Kant and the history of modern philosophy. His teaching interests include ancient, modern and 19th-century philosophy, moral philosophy, environmental ethics, justice, free will, metaphysics, epistemology, and philosophy of religion. His work has been published in such journals as Kantian Review, Kant-Studien, Hume Studies, the Journal of Philosophical Research and Areté. He has presented many papers at professional conferences abroad and in the US. Current projects include a book on Kant’s analogies of experience.
