About

The Department of History provides a curriculum that develops the knowledge and skills students need to appreciate the past and thrive in the future.

The program offers more than 40 courses, ranging from Medieval Civilization and Ancient China to courses focused on Colonial America, Global Buddhism and more. Students can seek Upper Elementary and/or Secondary Education certifications in Social Studies. The certifications are associated with the Department of Education.

The History Department offers a major and a minor, with particular focus on American, European, and East Asian history. Additional course information is available in the W&J College Catalog.
