Kariny Contreras-Nuñez was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and at the age of six moved to New York City where she became fluent in English. She is a graduate of the High School of Economics & Finance in New York City and Gettysburg College, where she majored in sociology and minored in philosophy. During her time at Gettysburg, Kariny worked for the Office of Admissions, traveled abroad to Athens, Greece, and was a resident of Peace and Social Justice House. In the Office of Admission at W&J, she is responsible for multi-cultural recruitment and the Charles West Fellows Grant.
