Books & Videos
The Library supports an open collection of 210,000 volumes including Circulating, Reference, Periodicals, eBooks, and Children's materials. Books circulate to faculty and staff for one year. Videos (VHS and DVD) circulate for three days. eBooks are an integral part of our Geotom catalog and can be accessed online 24 hours/day. No checkout is necessary.

Journals
The Library subscribes to about 400 periodical titles in paper format. Current issues and bound periodicals are housed on the main floor. This collection is supplemented by more than 17,000 eJournals online, the bulk of which are full text and searchable through the Summon discovery service, Journal Locator, or their native interfaces, such as EBSCOhost, Lexis-Nexis, PsychArticle, JSTOR, and others.

The Walker Room
The Walker Room on the lower level of the Library is a recreation of John Walker's private library as it existed in his Western Avenue mansion in Pittsburgh. The Walker Room contains a rich collection of books, bookcases, pictures, furniture, chandeliers, and exquisite stained-glass lamps. John Walker was a Pittsburgh industrialist who amassed a fortune in the steel and iron industry. When he died in 1932, he left the bulk of his estate to his family who in turn offered the whole library and furnishings to Washington & Jefferson College.

Rare Books, Manuscripts, and Archives
The U. Grant Miller Library also houses rare books, manuscripts, and archival materials. These include materials in the Archives & Special Collections Library related to eighteenth- and nineteenth-century U.S. history with emphasis on Southwestern Pennsylvania and primary source materials in the areas of the Underground Railroad and the Whiskey Rebellion.

Digital Archives
The U. Grant Miller Library Digital Archives Project is a multimedia exhibition of materials from the Archives & Special Collections Library at Washington & Jefferson College. This site offers students, faculty, and historians interested in Washington & Jefferson College history an inside look at the rich collections held in the Library's historic archives. You can access this service from the Library's Website, or by connecting directly to http://washjeff.cdmhost.com/cdm/.
