Biology Major and Dr. Kilgore Present LEM Research at St. Louis Conference

Brittany Verrico '13 and Dr. Jason Kilgore (Biology) co-presented a poster at the Botanical Society of America meeting in sweltering St. Louis, MO, in July.  The research represents work done by HHMI-funded student interns (Summers 2009 and 2010) and students from Dr. Kilgore's Ecology of Plant Invasions Summer 2011 course, in which Verrico participated, as part of the Long-term Ecological Monitoring (LEM) program at Abernathy Field Station.  Their poster was entitled "Life stage fluctuations in garlic mustard (Alliaria petiolata) abundance: incorporating long-term ecological monitoring into an undergraduate curriculum.”  Both Verrico and Kilgore were supported by HHMI for their participation in this conference.
