Dr. Claire Burns (Biology) is part of a community-wide genomic sequencing project for the basidiomycete mushroom Coprinopsis cinerea. Sequencing will be performed by the Joint Genome Initiative, as part of a project examining alternative energy sources using fungi, co-ordinated by the Department of Energy.
