Math Majors Attend National Joint Mathematics Meeting in Boston
Dr. Michael Woltermann and Dr. Roman Wong were accompanied by four students, Kerri Nunnamaker (’12), Cammie Monahan (’13), Emily Sasala (’13), and Kristina Woodside (’12) to the 2012 National Joint Mathematics Meeting in Boston on January 4-7. Nunnamaker was awarded a MAA-NSF undergraduate travel grant to present her poster “Representation of an integer as harmonic means” at the Undergraduate Poster Session. Woodside presented a talk on “Tiling deficient chessboards with n- polyominoes” at a MAA General Contributed Paper Session. The students also attended the Graduate School Fair and participated in on-site
interviews with the National Security Agency for possible jobs.
