Presidents Go for Gold in Charity Basketball Game against Steelers

WASHINGTON, PA (Feb. 27, 2012)—A team of Washington & Jefferson College (W&J) faculty members and students will play members of the Pittsburgh Steelers in a charity basketball game at W&J’s Henry Memorial Center March 6 at 8 p.m.

“This will give Steelers fans the opportunity to see some of their players in action giving back to the community by helping collect donations for charity,” said Tyler Kowcheck, residence life coordinator at W&J. “It is a special event, and we thank the Steelers for giving us the opportunity to participate and raise money for a wonderful cause.”

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Washington County Special Olympics. The doors open to the public at 7 p.m. Tickets for the event are $7 and can be purchased by calling 724-229-5120. Participating Steelers will be available to sign autographs at halftime.

Kowcheck said last year’s event raised just over $1,000 for the Special Olympics.
