WASHINGTON, PA (Feb. 25, 2013)—Sara Shepard, best-selling author of the Pretty Little Liars series, will give a public lecture followed by a book signing March 4 at 4 p.m. in the lecture hall of the Dieter-Porter Life Sciences Building at Washington & Jefferson College (W&J).
Later, Peggy Noonan, widely admired columnist for The Wall Street Journal and the best-selling author of eight books on American politics, history and culture, will present, “An Evening of Perspective with Peggy Noonan” at 7 p.m. in W&J’s Olin Fine Arts Center.
Shepard is also the author of another young adult series, The Lying Game, which along with Pretty Little Liars, has been turned into a television series on ABC Family.
In addition to her two successful series, Shepard has also published a few novels for adults, including The Visibles and Everything We Ever Wanted.
The Noonan lecture is part of the J. Robert Maxwell ’43 Visiting Scholar Series.
A former special assistant and speechwriter for President Ronald Reagan and former chief speechwriter for Vice President George H. W. Bush, Noonan is considered one of this century’s premier presidential speechwriters. Noonan’s essays have also appeared in TIME, Newsweek, The Washington Post and other publications, and she provides frequent political commentary on television. Noonan’s most recent best-seller, Patriotic Grace, is a call for more elevated national politics.
Both lectures are free and open to the public.
