WASHINGTON, PA (Feb. 19, 2013)—A team of Washington & Jefferson College (W&J) faculty members, staff and students will play the Pittsburgh Steelers Footballers basketball team in a charity basketball game at W&J’s Henry Memorial Center March 6 at 8 p.m.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Tim McNerney Scholarship, Washington County Special Olympics, and NFL Play 60.
“This will give Steelers fans the opportunity to see some of their players in action giving back to the community by helping collect donations for charity,” said Steve Anderson, associate dean of student life at W&J. “It is a special event, and we thank the Steelers for giving us the opportunity to participate and raise money for a group of wonderful causes, including the Tim McNerney Scholarship.”
Participating Steelers will be available to sign autographs at halftime.
The doors open to the public at 7 p.m. Tickets for the event are $7 in advance and can be purchased by calling 724-229-5120 or visiting http://www.washjeff.edu/steelers. Tickets will be available at the door for $10.
