W&J Awards Nine Faculty Members Tenure

WASHINGTON, PA (June 3, 2011)—The following faculty members have been awarded tenure by Washington & Jefferson College:

▪ Tara Fee, Ph.D. (Department of English)

Fee received a bachelor’s degree in English from Swarthmore College in 1995. In 2001, she earned a master’s in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she received her doctorate in American literature in 2005. Fee joined the faculty at W&J that same year as an assistant professor of English.

▪ Lori Galley, Ph.D. (Department of Economics and Business)

Galley received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from W&J in 1988. She followed that in 1993 with a master’s in business from Carnegie Mellon University, and, in 2004, she received from Nova Southeastern University a doctorate in business administration with a specialization in accounting. Galley joined the W&J faculty in 2006.

▪ Rebecca Grime, Ph.D. (Department of Psychology)
Grime received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from The Ohio State University in 1999 and a master’s in psychology from the same institution in 2002. Remaining at Ohio State, she received her doctorate in psychology in 2005 and joined the faculty of W&J that same year.

▪ Ralph Liberatore, Ph.D. (Department of Economics and Business)
Liberatore received his bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 1974. In 1988, he received a master’s in materials engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. In 1995, he was awarded a doctorate in industrial engineering and operations research, also from the University of Pittsburgh. Liberatore joined the faculty of W&J in 2007.

▪ H.J. Manzari, Ph.D. (Department of Modern Languages)
Manzari received his bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Hobart College in 1991. He followed that in 1993 with a master’s in Spanish from the Pennsylvania State University and in 1995, he received a master’s in Italian from the University of Virginia. He received his doctorate in Spanish from Virginia in 2001. Manzari arrived at W&J in 2008 as an associate professor of modern languages in Spanish.

▪ Nobunaka Matsuno. Ph.D. (Department of Chemistry)
Matsuno received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Butler University in 1994 and followed that in 1997 with a master’s in chemistry, also from Butler. He earned a doctorate in chemistry from the University of Cincinnati in 2003 and joined the faculty of W&J in 2005.▪

Andrew Mulvania. Ph.D. (Department of English)
Mulvania received a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Missouri–Columbia in 1997 and a master’s in creative writing from the University of Virginia in 1999. Returning to the University of Missouri–Columbia in 2000, Mulvania received his doctorate in English and creative writing in 2005. He joined the faculty at W&J that same year as an assistant professor of English.

▪ Gregg Osborne, Ph.D. (Department of Philosophy)
Osborne received his bachelor’s degree in philosophy and English from Macalester College in 1984. Following a year in Germany as a Fulbright Scholar in the middle 1980s, he earned a doctorate in philosophy from the University of Chicago in 2001. Osborne arrived in 2007 at W&J as an associate professor of philosophy.

▪ Todd Verdun, Ph.D. (Department of English)
Verdun received a bachelor’s degree in English from Duke University in 1993. He followed that in 1998 with a master’s in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Remaining at North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he received there his doctorate in English in 2005. He joined the faculty at W&J that same year as an assistant professor of English.
