W&J to Hold Mock Election Tuesday

WASHINGTON, PA (Feb. 3, 2012)—With election season in full swing, the Presidents of Washington & Jefferson College are looking to get an early read on which way the campus community is leaning through a Mock Election Tuesday, Feb. 7.

Polls will be open outside The Commons and George & Tom’s, located on the ground floor of the Rossin Campus Center, from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Interested students, staff and faculty will be given a paper ballot asking for their political party, who they would vote for in the primary, and whether they would vote for that candidate over President Barack Obama in the general election.

Alex Nallin, vice president of the W&J College Republicans, believes W&J students view personal debt, jobs and the economy as the main issues in the election.
