Perhaps one of the most distinct features of Washington & Jefferson College is its location! Our students have the opportunity to experience college life in the small town of Washington, PA, but they also have access to the most livable city in the United States— Pittsburgh! W&J is located 30 miles south of Pittsburgh and because of that proximity, students have all of the opportunities that a big city has to offer at their fingertips!
W&J makes it very easy and convenient for students to access “The Burgh” as it is so affectionately known. As a service to our studen
ts, we offer a free shuttle system called the Pittsburgh Pipeline that takes students to and from the city on weekends.
So what do W&J students take advantage of in Pittsburgh?
