Easton, Richard F.
Areas of Study
Richard Easton is a professor in the Department of English. He enjoys teaching a number of courses, including advanced composition for which many W&J graduates remember him. His love of theatre has led him to develop such courses as theatre in London, a popular international intersession course, and the on campus modern continental drama. Dr. Easton also has an abiding interest in American modernism, which he fulfills through studies in authors like William Faulkner.
In recent years Dr. Easton has turned to writing for younger readers. He has recently published A Real American, Clarion Books/ Houghton Mifflin. The novel was a Children's Choice nominee for 2004-5 and was designated one of the top ten novels for middle grade readers in 2002 by School Librarians International. He now team teaches Children's Literature with his wife, author Patricia H. Easton. In their free time, the couple travels in Europe, often leading trips for W&J alumni, parents, and friends.
