Michael Wolf is an associate professor in the Department of Philosophy. His recent work has been primarily in the philosophy of language, particularly theories of reference and rigid designation. Dr. Wolf's work addresses recent debates on meaning in the analytical tradition, with healthy doses of pragmatism. He has also written articles on epistemology and objectivity, as well as the philosophy of humor. He is co-editor of "The Self-Correcting Enterprise" (2006) with Mark Lance, a collection of essays on the philosophy of Wilfrid Sellars. He is currently working on an account of indexicals, as well as papers on contextualist epistemology and theories of personhood. When he grows up, he wants to be John Coltrane. Or a fireman.
