Hearing a recording of yourself practicing or performing is an invaluable learning tool. Recordings are also an essential when auditioning or applying for competitions, festivals, and scholarships.
Students can make recordings in Olin 211 and 213, two acoustically live classrooms. While the rooms are sufficient for making recordings, they are not soundproof. Students are responsible for editing their recordings and can download audio editing freeware such as Audacity.
To arrange a recording session, contact Mark Swift or Kyle Simpson. Department performances such as ensemble performances and studio honors recitals are recorded by the department and are available to students by request. Excerpts will also be posted online at soundcloud.com.
