Magellan Project Description:
This summer I traveled to Israel and Palestine for three weeks to conduct a hands on peace-and-conflict study. I wanted to know what’s really going on there and try to gain a better understanding of the deep-rooted tensions through the three major monotheistic religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam). So, I lived with a host family in Bethlehem, Palestine, interviewed people on both sides of the conflict, visited the major holy sites, and spent three weeks fully immersed in their culture.
How will your Magellan Project help with your plans after graduation?
After graduation I plan on attending law school to receive my JD in International Law with an emphasis on Human Trafficking. My Magellan Project has allowed me to not only visit an area of the world that I later hope to work in but has also given me the opportunity to expand my comfort zone, cultural horizons, and adaptability which will exponentially increase my chance of success in my chosen field.
